Last night a friend suggested I try his gateway drug to coffee drinks: the vanilla latte. I was skeptical at first, but promised to try it later this month. My partner caught wind of this and surprised me in the morning by making one for me as I woke up.
It tasted delicious, masking so much of the coffee flavor that I hardly noticed it. It also helps my partner is serious about her espresso and never ever burns her brew (her jargon, but I think I get it now).
This drink reminded me of disliking the taste of alcohol when I was a teen until I found wine coolers (it was the late 80s, they were everywhere). Vanilla lattes may be my training wheels, my default entry-level beverage that gets me used to coffee, but I'm ok with that.
